Brain and Mind Institute

Brain and Mind Institute (BMI) was established in 2015 with the sponsorship from the Dr. Stanley Ho Medical Development Foundation. BMI aims to become a world-leading research institute that makes discoveries in basic mechanisms of complex neurological conditions with the ultimate goal to enhance treatments of these conditions using molecular, cellular, behavioral, and engineering therapies and solutions for optimizing human development, enhancing learning, and improving quality of life.

The Director of the institute is Professor Patrick Wong, Stanley Ho Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience.

CUHK Stanley Ho Developmental Cohort Study

This study is being run by the Brain and Mind Institute at CUHK, with sponsorship by Dr. Stanley Ho Medical Development Foundation. We are enrolling 300 newborn infants and obtaining their neural and behavioral developmental data for up to 5 years to try to predict their language and cognitive outcomes as well as their academic readiness.
