The Stanley Ho Big Data Decision Analytics (BDDA)
The Stanley Ho Big Data Decision Analytics (BDDA) Research Centre was established in May 2013. The Centre encourages multidisciplinary research and collaboration across different academic departments. It’s six areas of focus are: Healthcare and Genomics, Earth System Sciences, Social Networks, Economics and Finances, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Digital Learning. The Centre also collaborates with the industry with major partners including IBM and Microsoft.
BDDA has kicked-off a series of interdisciplinary projects related to big data analytics on city transportation, air pollution & health, emergency department operations, medicine risk, online language learning, etc. The Centre also held joint workshops with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to discuss about the new opportunities brought from e-learning and other related topics on teaching, technology and learning behavior.
Professor Joseph Sung, Mok Hing Yiu Professor of Medicine and Professor Helen Meng, Patrick Huen Wing Ming Professor of Systems Engineering & Engineering Management are the Co-directors of the Centre.
